Mortuary Aid Assistance

For families who are facing the hardships of such unexpected obstacles. Below are our simple, clear financial aid guidelines for obtaining the financial support assistance for mortuary needs.

Who We Help

We provide financial assistance to families when a child passes between 23 weeks of gestation and their 17th birthday. Cases outside this range are not eligible.

What the Grant Covers

  • Up to $500 is paid directly to the funeral home, crematory, cemetery, or verified memorial service provider.

How Funds Are Released

Once we approve a complete application and receive the final invoice, payment is made within two business days directly to the vendor. This prevents families from fronting costs during an already difficult time.

Who May Apply

Only parents or legal guardians with court-issued guardianship documents for the child may apply. This policy ensures proper use of limited funds.

No Strings Attached

Grants are gifts, never loans. We do not require repayment, fundraising, or publicity.

Alana’s Hearts Tribute

We encourage families to have their child’s first name, and a short message displayed on our remembrance wall, Alana’s Hearts.

One Grant Per Child

To stretch resources, only one grant per child will be provided. If multiple applications are received, we work with the first eligible legal guardian who submits a complete application.

When To Apply

Apply as soon as possible, and no later than 30 days after your child’s passing, so we can process documents and payments before the service.

Required Documents

  • Final invoice or written estimate from the funeral home/crematory/cemetery.
  • Parent/guardian photo ID and proof of guardianship if applicable.
  • Verification from the service provider (contact info and account number, if any).

Processing Timeline

Complete applications are reviewed as quickly as possible. Most decisions are issued within 3–5 business days, and approved payments are sent directly to the provider within two business days of receiving the final invoice.
