What Was The Purpose For The Event?

This family panel was created to honor the lives of children who fought bravely and to give voice to the families who walk alongside them. Returning to Seattle Children’s was an act of remembrance, truth, and advocacy, sharing lived experiences to bring understanding, compassion, and dignity to families still navigating unimaginable journeys.

Through vulnerability and storytelling, this panel affirmed that these stories matter, these children matter, and that lasting change begins when families are seen, heard, and supported.

Who Was Involved?

This panel brought together families who have experienced the profound grief and lifelong impact of losing a child and parents who understand the weight of hospital halls, long nights, impossible decisions, and love that never fades. Families stood not as speakers, but as storytellers, sharing lived experiences shaped by courage, heartbreak, and unwavering devotion to their children.

Alongside these families were dedicated doctors, nurses, social workers, child life specialists, and hospital professionals from Seattle Children’s Hospital who bear witness to these journeys every day. Their presence reflected a shared commitment to compassionate care, advocacy, and the belief that healing extends beyond medicine alone.
